Markaz Global Pravasi Family Summit Concludes
Calicut: The Markaz Global Council organized the Markaz Global Pravasi Family Summit, which was inaugurated by the Grand Mufti of India, His Eminence Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad.
Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad expressed concern over the growing economic and social insecurity faced by expatriates amid the renewed tensions in West Asia. He emphasized the need for the government to constitute a special study committee to assess the impact of the crisis and formulate comprehensive relief and rehabilitation measures for affected expatriates and their families.
The summit brought together more than 1,000 participants, including expatriate delegates from 15 countries, Global Council leaders, and distinguished guests. The event, held at the Markaz Convention Centre, was presided over by V. P. M. Faizi Villiappally, while Sayyid Ali Bafaqui offered the opening prayer. C. Muhammed Faizi, Director General of Markaz, delivered the keynote address.
A series of thematic sessions focusing on expatriate welfare, sustainability, and the history and contemporary mission of Markaz were held as part of the summit. The sessions were led by Sayyid Muhammad Thurab Saquafi, Sayyid Shihabudheen Ahdal Muthanoor, Sayyid Sharafudheen Jamalullaili, Sayyid Jaseel Kamil Saquafi, Ibrahim Saquafi Puzhakkattiri, Usman Saquafi Thiruvathra, M. C. Abdul Gafoor Master Vazhakkad, Roshan Noorani, Marzooq Saadi Kamil Saquafi, Shareef Karassery, and Karim Haji Memunda.
Leaders of various chapters of the Markaz Global Council extended their greetings during the summit. The programme commenced with a welcome address by C. P. Ubaidullah Saquafi, Director of Markaz, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dhulkifil Saquafi, Joint Director of the Markaz Global Council.
