Recognition for Markaz Volunteers by Watani Al Emarat, UAE

Dubai: Markaz received the official recognition and respect of the Government of Dubai for the
exemplary service rendered by Dubai Markaz, ICF and Markaz Alumni in the face of the COVID'19
tragedy. The recognition was for the service of the Markaz activists who joined the 'Ten Million Food
Campaign' to deliver food kits to more than one million people, initiated by the Prime Minister of the
United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the lockdown period. The
volunteers worked behind the chartering of aircraft in and out of the Ras Al Khaimah-Kozhikode sector
freely for hundreds of passengers was also a completely systematic and distinctive service during the
difficulty time.
Dubai Markaz Secretary Fallu Mattannur and Alumni President Abdul Salam received the award from His
Excellency Diral Balhol Al Falasi, Member of the National Council Foundation and Executive Director of
Watani Al Emarat, at DACS Headquarters, Dubai. Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmed has
felicitated and prayed for the humanitarian service of the volunteers.
