World Shāfiʿī Fiqh Summit to be held at Markaz Knowledge Cty

Kozhikode: World Shāfiʿī  Fiqh Summit is going to be held in Sharia City of Markaz knowledge city in Kozhikode on January 31, Feb 1, 2 2020 as a part of Markaz 43th Anniversary Conference which is planned to be conducted on April 9-12. Plenty of Shafi Muftis, scholars, academicians and writers from almost forty countries are expected to participate in the summit.

The logo of the summit was released by Dr.Ali Gomaa, the former grand Mufti of Egypt at a special function organised in Amman,  the capital of Jordan in the presence of renowned scholars.  Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad,  the Chancellor of Jamia Markaz presided over the function. Sayed Umar bin Hafiz ,the chancellor of Darul Habeeb University Yemen, Muhammad Thoufeeq Ramadan al-Bouti Mufi and writer from Syria, Dr Usama Al Azhari and Dr Abdullah Muhammad Mecca.

As a way of Islamic life, Shafi legal school is being practised by about 350 million Muslim people in several continents. The summit aims to bring together many Shafi scholars who are leading different communities according to Shafi Madhhab in their own countries. The Sharia City, which is established for producing advanced students and innovative researchers will host this outstanding summit.
Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, the chancellor of Markaz said “this summit will be an integral part of Markaz 43rd Anniversary Conference as it is a very important gathering for Shafi clerics and academicians. A symposium on Malabar legacy also will be organized”. Further, an exhibition including the largest collection of classical texts and manuscripts related to Shafi Madhab will be arranged.
