The curtain raises tomorrow for the annual cultural feast of Markaz Garden Group of institutions, a prominent college under Markaz in the area of religious science, Rendezvous’18. Markaz Garden under the honourable hands of Dr AP Abdul Hakeem Azhari has been emphatically redrawing the cultural matrix of flair and art deeply rooted in the modern society. Rendezvous 18 is expected to be a landmark event in this 15 years of rich odyssey. The four-day life festival with its arresting theme “unfolding tales” commences with the cultural rally conducted on Monday evening. Sayed Abdussaboor Avelam would give initial prayer and prominent author Kalpetta Narayan would officially inaugurate the fest. On Tuesday, Usthad Hakeem Azhari would interact with students in the event of Director Talk. During the Merit evening conducted on the same day, the institution would honour five of its faculties who bagged Phd’s from reputed universities. The programme which encompasses students of Madeenathunnoor College, Markaz Garden School of Science and Management and 15 Off campuses spread in and out of Kerala is organized as a festival of culturally rich Poonoor town. Unit competitions held in each off campuses and three of zone competitions held so far offered a glimpse of institution’s disposition with cultural aesthetics and traditional flavours. Winners of stiff competition held in each category would now look forward to reiterating their position in the concluding session. More than 1000 students would compete in over 300 items in the final event. A host of different programmes in Arabic, English, Malayalam and Urdu makes the event distinct and diverse. Channel Discussion, Masaala Shura, Thartheel, Risala Creation, Translation Dialogue, Public Talk, Tedex Talk, Talk Master, Master Plan, Qawali, Nasheeda, Gazal and other items with a blend of modern and moral trends would be a novel experience for Art lovers. The deserving item in the year’s art feast is ‘Malcolm Wall’ Poetry exhibition with the theme “Be poetical, Be political” conducted to raise voice against the social and political uncertainties of our times. The exhibition deploys over 300 literary works and art pieces authored in different languages. As a part of fest a number of diverse programmes including Tree Planting, Town Cleaning, Visiting Health Care Society and Art discussions were staged. Apart from the cultural fest, Rendezvous Annual Trust presents a series of iridescent projects including Project Live Cafe, Visual studio and exhibition and Medicare Aerobics and Psychology. These projects encompassing each element of student activism would make the event a true life festival. The fest would too witness students passing the fund they themselves collected as a part of CM’s flood relief to C Muhammed Faizy, Chairman of Hajj Committee. The stalwarts in the social-cultural platforms would attend the four-day fest in various sessions. When art gets silenced on one side and polluted on the other, Rendezvous 18 would be a novel and moral upward trajectory. Union head Nuhman Hassainar, Finance head Uwais and Media head Yaseen Umair attended the press meeting.
