Kozhikode: Markaz Unani Medical College organised a programme as part of the Prime Minister’s vision to make the new generation healthy and fit in society.

With an aim to make physical activities and sports a part of the daily life of the citizens, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Fit India Movement’ on Thursday. Students of the Unani Medical college watched the inaugural talk of the Prime Minister on-screen and organised a walk around the vast campus of Markaz Knowledge City.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) had asked higher educational institutions (HEIs) to motivate staff and students to attempt walking 10,000 steps each on the day and follow it up in the daily routine.

Prof. Haroon Rasheed Mansoori inaugurated the Programme. Prof Azmathulla delivered a keynote address. It has been decided to take more steps to develop the health of students and staff by walking and sports activities on the campus according to the PM’s Fit India Movement Project. The Markaz Unani Medical College also decided to take the message to the Markaz Colleges and other neighbouring Institutions.
